A job well-done…
It’s our magical tech trolls who are lounging in the summer sunshine today, after a weekend of toil in the server cellar.
“I don’t really see anything ‘new’ or ‘improved’ about the site,” Sister Erin remarked, after taking a close, critical look late last night, when all the circuitry cabinets had been ‘buttoned up’ and the power switches flipped back on…
That’s exactly what we were hoping our most critical readers would say. Our minions’ accomplish-ments were not supposed to be showy. But they WERE supposed to be substantial…
In the works for weeks…
We’ve been planning to update the foundation tech of our server for sometime. Over the past three days, we updated the version of the programing language we use – PHP – to the latest version. We supported that by updating the latest version of our content management platform – WordPress – to the latest version. And we brought up to date all the ‘plugin’ helper and customization apps we rely on to make the site work we want it to.
So… What you SHOULD notice is fewer broken links and annoying redirects. Faster and smoother response when you do click a link. And more-relevant search results when you use specific search terms in the site search box.
And we have even more enhancements on the way!
Enjoy!
