* ‘FFB’ is the acronym by which we often refer to this blog. It’s proper name is ‘Maggie J’s Fabulous Food Blog’. But that’s just too long to repeat over and over again. And faithful readers will have figured that out ages ago…
Maggie and her sister (and ‘partner in prose’) Erin are both graduates of the Algonquin College (Ottawa) School of Hospitality and lifelong cooks. The FFB has been on the rails since 2011, soon after creator Maggie James semi-retired from the ‘hospitality’ industry.
Ever a student of ‘all things food’, she spent even more time scouring the food-related news services and myr-iad other online sources for topics that caught her fancy – from recipes, to ingredient exposés, to nutri-tion and medical news.
When COVID struck, in early 2020, Maggie caught the bug. More accurately, it caught her. Fortunately (?), she was simply laid low for the better part of three months; never needed hospitalization. But she also became infected by the ‘political’ bug. Remember the controversy surrounding the lock-down, and the ruinous affect it had on the hospitality industry? Remember all the hubbub surrounding US President Donald Trump’s statements and suggestions about meeting the COVID Challenge? Who could resist commenting?
Ever evolving…
Today, the FFB has evolved far beyond its initial intentions. Instead of one post a day, Monday to Friday, it drops two (sometimes three) new posts a day, plus weekend special features Fast Food Week (Saturdays), and Sunday Musings.
We hope you enjoy our posts. Even more, we hope you feel informed and maybe even educated by them. But most of all, we like to think that reading our posts has moved you to explore the links therein and dive deeper into the amazing world of Food!
