So there you have it – a third week featuring predominantly special sandwich deals and rewards card promos. You can tell how important it is for the big brands to get you using those apps, and online ordering and paying…
El Pollo Loco new Burrito Grillers: Getting top marks from reviewers…
Arby’s lights up new Spicy sammy…
Arby’s Spicy Roast Beef consists of thin-sliced regular roast beef rubbed with Fiery seasoning (salt, garlic, onion, other spices, peppers, and sugar) and served with spicy mayo sauce, shredded lettuce, and diced fresh jalapeños on a toasted sesame seed bun (see photo, top of page). As usual, it’s a limited-time offering.
… rolls out Mac ‘N Cheese bowls
Arby’s White Cheddar Mac ‘N Cheese features elbow macaroni topped with a white cheddar sauce. The Loaded Chicken Bacon Ranch version is topped with chopped chicken nuggets, bacon, and Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch sauce.
…And the Chicken version also costs $2 more. Is that too much for a few more chopped chisken nuggets? You decide. At participating locations for a limited time.
Burrito Grillers new at El Pollo Loco
Billed as a tribute to Sonora, Mexico, EPL’s new Shredded Beef Burrito Grillers and Fire-Grilled Chicken Burrito Grillers are described by reviewers as substantial enough that, “you really don’t need much else to make up a great meal.” They come with EPL’s Loco Dipping Sauce, which is described as, “like a savory queso consommé.” Burrito Grillers are here for a limited time at participating locations.

Burger King extends Free Fries deal
It must be popular – and working. The ‘Free Fries with any purchase’ using your Royal Perks account is now good through June, 2023. You can use it once a week; it auto-renews the following week.
Intl. Alert: McDonald’s France gets fancy
McBaguette returns to McDonald’s France as part of a limited-time, promotional tie-in for the third season of Netflix’s comedy series Emily in Paris. With 2 signature all-beef patties lettuce, two slices of Emmental (Swiss) cheese, old-fashioned (creamy) mustard sauce, and Dijon, all stacked on a baguette.
Well, it looks like a real crusty baguette, anyway. Here I go again, but… Why can’t we have this elegant, yet substantial main on our North American McMenus?
Del Taco resurrects Orange Cream Shake
Shades of the ancient and venerable Creamsicle! That summer-standard Ice Cream on a stick treat covered with Orange ice that was always preferable to the hard Chocolate coating on plain vanilla version. The shake is back after an 8-year hiatus – and a fan mail crusade over the past year or so. For a limited time at participating locations. Indulge your childhood memories!
Panera intros ‘charged’ lemonade
It comes in three flavour blends including Mango Yuzu Citrus. Yup; they’re exotic stuff. But the ‘charged’ part is yet to come. That’s a massive 260 mg of caffeine per standard glassful, and 82 g of sugar. Standard espresso has just 63 mg of caffeine per serving.
One commentor on the Panera Twitter account said, “I had one Strawberry charged lemonade and was awake for a full 24 hours.” Not for me, thanks!
And that’s the skinny…
… On the best of what’s going to be making some of us a little fatter over the coming days and weeks. Hope the limited-time menu items and deep discount deals make your winter zip by a little faster! And meet us back here in 7 for the next edition of Fast Food Week!
