Pizza Hut Celebrates Book It!’s 40th…
You don’t have to be a kid or a voracious reader to celebrate the Pizza Hut Book It! program’s 40th birthday. Enter promo code ‘BOOKIT40’ to get a free Personal Pan Pizza with a purchase of $8 or more through the end of this month. There’s also a Book It! Bundle which includes: two large, 1-topping pizzas and breadsticks. The Hut will donate a portion of the proceeds from each sale to the Book It! Program.
Papa Murphy reprises Jack O’ Pizza
It’s become a Hallowe’en tradition… The pumpkin-faced pizza is topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella, a pepperoni smile, two olive eyes, and a bonus layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese (to get the right colour).
Order in large or family-size, for $10 or $13, respectively. Prices may vary depending on where you live.
Domino’s offers ‘basic’ value Pies
It’s simple. You can get 5o percent off any menu-priced pizza of any size, with any toppings, and any crust. The popular Value-oriented offering comes up in Domino’s deal rotation a few times a year. But this time, it’s in honour of October – National Pizza Month!
Wendy’s + SpongeBob present the Krabby Patty
The ‘Kollab’ was a natural for Wendy’s – famous for its square burger patty: “It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience,” Wendy’s Chief Marketing Officer Lindsay Radkoski, says, in a statement.
The Krabby Patty Kollab is a quarter-pound burger topped with two slices of American (processed) cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and a new Krabby Kollab sauce. Premiering October 8, alongside a new Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty (see Beverages, below)…

Taco Bell cycles-back Nacho Fries
They show up, for a limited time, several times a year. They’re spicy-seasoned fries served with a warm nacho sauce for dipping. Available in regular or large orders. Nacho Fries have appeared pre-viously with special toppings and/or dips. This time, there’s no promo tie-in. They’re just back, for their own sake, because you asked for them!

Wendy’s new Frosty drowns a pineapple…
It’s a suitably oddball Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty – the beverage accompaniment to the much-hyped Krabby Patty Kollab.And it’s coming October 8 in the US, Canada and… Guam. (Don’t ask me why. It just is…) It’s described as, “Wendy’s’ signature Vanilla Frosty swirled with Pineapple Mango puree.”
Desserts and Snacks
Dunkin does Hallowe’en up BIG!
The Doughnut and Coffee chain is launching a major lineup of eats and drinks for the witching season. There are special hauntingly themes doughnuts and Munchkins (doughnut ‘holes’), and coordinating purple candy-collection bucket.
There’s also a special Potion Macchiato beverage featuring espresso over a purple marshmallow-ube flavoured milk base.
Chips Ahoy! rolls out a new Big Cookies
No better word for them – except, maybe, ‘giant’! Nevertheless… All three new Big Chewy Cookies are three times bigger than their regular-sized counterparts.
Choose from: classic Chips Ahoy! Chewy, Chocolatey Brownie, and Chocolatey Caramel. And all three feature now, proportionally-bigger Chocolate Chips.
Canada sending Cheese Pizza Cheetos
Once again. A groundbreaking flavour is coming to the US from the snack innovation capital of the world – Canada. First it was our Ketchup and All Dressed Chips. Now, it’s Cheese Pizza flavoured Cheetos. They’re describes as ‘extra cheesy’, and will be hitting US shelves ‘within a few months’, as the company tools-up to puff them out…
Jolly Rancher (finally) uncoils ‘ropes’
When I was a kid, we called them ‘strings’, ‘ropes’ or ‘whips’. Those long, thin licorice candy wigglers everyone loved to play with while they snacked. My friends and I braided different colours of them into bracelets…
