The Smile Cookie Campaign is Tim’s biggest charity fundraiser of the year… Ad it’s underway now through the end of this week. Makes you proud to be Canadian! And helps hundreds of Canadian charities…
Wow! The Smile Cookie, in itself, is a small thing. But its implications are HUGE! The annual fundraiser gathered more than $18 million last year, which was distributed to more than 600 different ‘good causes’…
Tastes good, too!
Tim’s annual Smile Cookie Campaign raised nearly $18.8 million last year. That brings the overall total raised since the promo’s 1996 début to more than $129 million. The campaign runs now through May 4, across Canada.
“Every year, Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada come together with team members and guests to make an incredible impact in their local communities with the annual Smile Cookie campaign,” says Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons.
“Generous guests helped us raise nearly $18.8 million last year. We invite all Canadians to join us in our restaurants to support Smile Cookie week. It’s a deliciously easy way to make an impact in your local community and is one of the most feel-good and inspirational times of the year for Tims fans.”
The cookie itself…
The official Smile Cookie is a new Tim’s Chocolate Chunk cookie decorated with pink and blue icing to create a wide-eyed grin.
A full 100 percent of proceeds from sales of the cookies will go into the mega0fund. This year, there’s also a special, reversible Smile Cookie plushie (pillow?) available. Net proceeds from its sales will also go into the pot.
My take
There’s a whole dedicated website in place enshrining details of the campaign and everything you ever wanted to know about which charities benefit. Registered charities can visit the page to find out if they can qualify for Smile Cookie Fund support.
For the curious… The site includes a full list of organizations that currently receive Smile Fund dollars…
