We’ve been waiting for this for years. And now, it’s here. Our Internet provider has just stealth-announced another incremental upgrade in our connection package which includes (drum roll, please…) uninterruptible service!
We’ve been growing (quietly) with our increasing responsibilities to a growing audience over the past couple of years, here at the Fab Food Blog. Mega-improvements we’ve been able to access during that span have included expanded access to food news services, more-timely content delivery, and the ability to ‘scoop’ the mainstream media on even the highest-profile, breaking food stories.
Go fast, or go home!
At the same tine, not-so-small improvements on our technical side have elevated our abilities to deliver our enhanced ‘product’ faster and more reliably.
First, we were able to access faster, more-reliable broadband service when our provider unveiled enhanced fibreoptic connections – all the way through from the user (us) to the Internet backbone.
Shortly after that, we added a key element to our overall tech establishment – a backup generator that automatically switches over to power our entire operation when the public power utility suffers an outage.
The jewel in our crown…
And most recently, our valiant service provider has delivered on what we had considered a pipe dream, (at least for the foreseeable future): An uninterruptible internet connection!
Previously, even when our generator kicked in allowing us to work more or less uninterrupted, we were limited in what we could accomplish. Our internet connection would go down when the public power utility went down, cutting us off from the world, communications-wise.
Enter, X-Finity
But now we have X-Finity. That’s what they’re calling their new connection service which – like our own facilities – is equipped with a back-up power system that guarantees continued connections in a blackout. Combine that with a communications grid which, in my city, is almost entirely buried safely underground, and we now enjoy the closest thing to an undefeatable tech set-up which we could not even have dreamed of even a few months ago.
We hope you’re noticing – and enjoying – the recent improvements in our service as much as we’re enjoying delivering up to four times as much Foodsphere news and information per week to you…
Cheers!
