The Tex-Mex chain known for its Guacamole is giving away free Guac on National Avocado Day, July 31. It’s also a promo for Chipotle’s new Autocado machines which now robotically prepare the house’s signature sauce. That supposedly saves employees almost an hour of chopping and mashing per shift. Free Subway for life?

Arby’s brings back Hushpuppy Fish Strips
Arby’s has decided to being back its counter-themed Hushpuppy-breaded Fish Strips for the remainder of the summer. While supplies last. The fish is Pollack, and they come in 3- and 5-piece orders, and are also included in combo packs with fries and a drink. All orders include tartar sauce.
Papa John’s ups ante on ChickenPoppers
PJ’s has decided to replace its Chicken Poppers with full-scale Boneless Chicken Wings. The new ‘wings’ appear similar to the former Poppers, but PJ’s says they’re seasoned differently and oven baked.
They come in 10-, 15- and 30-piece orders with any of BWW’s regular sauces. In most places, the 10-wing order sells for $8.99, a buck less than an 8-piece order of traditional wings.
DiGiorno launches Pizza Robots
These auto kiosks can deliver your fave DiGirorno frozen pizza in under three minutes, piping hot and ready for you to box up and take home. It’s the latest in a series of entirely automatic pizza kiosks to hit the market in the past decade.
And the first to carry an established mega-brand name. Company polling shows, 97 percent of customers believe it’s a good value at 9 bucks per pie. And 89 percent say they’ll order another robot-made pizza.
Intl. Alert! BK Thailand ‘Unlimited’ burger
Burger King’s Asian divisions are always coming up with something unusual to grab customers’ attention. This time, it’s the Real Meat Burger. The idea is, you can order as many patties as you want – unlimited But you pay extra for each patty after 3. It’s a logical (though crazy) extension of the ‘Real Cheesburger’ idea the brand floated a few weeks ago, where you get a bun and 20 slices of cheese. And that’s it. Apparently they’re also offering Real Tomato, Real Pickle and Real Onion burgers featuring those ingredients solo, along the same lines as the Real Cheeseburger.
Hostess mashes up Twinkies, Ding Dongs
The snack cake giant has merged its two leading products to create a hockey puck-shaped Twinkie covered in Ding Dong Fudge.
Unlike many new fast food creations, the ‘Twink-Dong’ is a permanent addition to the brand’s roster. They’re available everywhere Hostess products are found as of today.
