Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich
KFC is now offering its new Ultimate Chicken Sandwich at participating locations across the U.S. The Ultimate BBQ Fried Chicken Sammy is really stacked: Starting with a toasted brioche bun, the Ultimate employs a standard extra-crispy chicken breast, layered with hickory smoked bacon, sweet and tangy honey BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions, melted cheese and pickles. The menu item reveal is accompanied by offering one lucky couple a free trip to Aruba. It’s a partnership with Going.com, a travel membership site that finds discounts on flights.
Arby’s brings back 5 for $5 RB sandwich
One of Arby’s greatest-value limited time specials is the 5 for $5 deal. It’s back at the resto that ‘Has The Meats!’ now through July 2. Happy Independence-from-your-diet Day! However, you have to order via the Arby’s App. Note: These are regular Arby’s Classic Roast Beef sammys, not minis of some kind.
Taco Bell reprises Volcano Menu
The Volcano menu includes a Volcano Taco and a Double Beef Volcano Burrito, served with ultra-hot Lava Sauce.
And Sauce fans will be able to request Lava Sauce with any of their fave regular menu items. The Volcano Menu is back across the U.S. today – for a limited time.
One Jack In The Box now Snoop In The Box
JITB is turning over one of its corporate-owned LA stores to Snoop Dogg (see photo, top of page). The location, we’re told, has been ‘Snoopified’ – including the menu. Will you be in Los Angeles’ Inglewood neighbourhood this weekend? The store is at 1220 Centinela Ave, Inglewood, CA 90302. OREO and Mario partner on new cookies
OREO’s latest partnership in the entertainment world is a major one – with Super Mario. There are 16 different chocolate wafer imprints portraying different Mario characters power-ups.
The the OREO x Super Mario cookie packs will appear at retail locations U.S. wide on July 10.They’re available now for pre-order at: oreo.com/SuperMario. And there’s a new Marios mission to go with the cookies” Prince Peach is missing and fans are invited to participate via social media in keeping villain Bowser from taking over her castle.
Colachup: Condiment-soda craziness
Pepsico is celebrating (or desecrating?) summer with the limited release of Pepsi-infused ketchup. Colachup is described as containing ingredients including, “smoked tomatoes (a blend of spices including cinnamon, thyme, oregano and paprika), plus onions and ketchup. The Culinary Institute of America has given the stuff its approval.
Nathan’s Original World Hot Dog Eating Champ Joey Chestnut agrees: “People might be surprised, but outside of competitions I love eating hot dogs at a more leisurely pace, and there’s no better way to eat a hot dog — steamed, grilled, or fried — than with a perfectly cool and crisp Pepsi.” Judge for yourself. But plan accordingly: The limited-edition sauce is only available for one day, on July 4, at four US ballparks: Chase Field in Phoenix, Yankee Stadium in New York City, Target Field in Minneapolis and Comerica Park in Detroit.
