We’re finally into the Mother’s Day specials (with barely a week to go!), and this week’s edition of FFW even features a special Burger King offering for moms-to-be. There are also some truly new menu items from 7-Eleven, Heinz, Dunkins’ and Krispy Kreme. From sweet to savoury to spicy, we’ve got you covered!

Chicken Bouquets bloom at KFC
The Original Fried Chicken Pheno0m, KFC, is offering special Chicken Bouquets for Mother’s Day. The chain is partnering with Proflowers.com to offer a bouquet (pronounced, ‘buck-ay’) that consists of a dozen fresh roses and fried chicken . The chicken is your choice of tenders or regular pieces on skewer stems. You get a glass vase, all the hardware, and the flowers from Proflowers. ‘Some assembly required’. Order online only using the KFC mobile app or via kfc.com, from May 1-3. The chicken is your responsibility: order from your local KFC as usual, on the day.
Chick-Fil-A reprises Spicy Chicken Biscuit
Back after a 6 year hiatus, the Spicy Chicken Biscuit is once again pleasing fans at CFA. It’s a simple treat: a spicy chicken breast on a hot biscuit. Grab-and-go at its essential best. And you can grab it participating CFA locations across the chain. It’s a limited time offer, though, so get in line now.
Sonic gets in a pickle
… With its new Big Dill Cheeseburger. It’s a deluxe production featuring SONIC’s signature seasoned beef patty, crispy-fried pickle fries, crinkle-cut pickle slices, dill ranch, shredded lettuce…
…and American (Processed) cheese, on a toasted bun. The new pregnancy craving quencher? It’s available until June 26 across the chain, while supplies last.
Burger King splashes out free fries
It’s a promotion to entice folks to join the BK Royal Rewards program. They can claim a free order – any size – of fries once a week with any purchase, through the end of the year. The deal is good across the U.S. (except Alaska and Hawaii) but is not valid on delivery orders.
7-Eleven adds mini Breakfast Empanadas
More resembling pregnant McDonald’s hand pies than their Tex-Mex namesakes, these day-starters are filled with sausage, egg, cheese, peppers, and spices.
Now through May 24, 7Rewards members can get a special deal featuring 3 Mini Spicy Breakfast Empanadas and any size coffee for $4.
Heinz gets dippy and crunchy
It’s a condiment innovation designed to pr0oduce the perfect fast food bite: a new mayo-based dip with a side of crushed potato chips for crunch. The instructions that come with Heinz Dip & Crunch say, dip your burger (or whatever) in the sauce and then in the chips, and bite. In regular and spicy versions. My first thought was, “I could make this at home, with a custom dip geared to my personal preferences, in about three minutes. But I guess those busy-busy millennials and those who’ve come after them, addicted to convenience, will buy the new dip kit in droves.
Krispy Kreme pours Cinnamon Milk Glaze
KK has partnered with General Mills to offer Cinnamon Milk Glazed doughnuts. They’re regular, original KK sinkers with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch-flavoured glaze.
One version has just the glaze. Another adds a sprinkle of the cereal itself. And a third adds cereal and a schmear of cream cheese icing. Available now until May 5 only.
Dunkin’s intros new Cornbread Doughnut
It’s billed as a spring innovation, but it’s an all-time, all-new thing in my experience. It’s a ‘sweet and savoury’ cake-based ring doughnut with cornmeal added. Glazed and topped with a drizzle of whit icing. It’s available for an unspecified limited time nationwide, at participating outlets.
