Of course, I’m not talking about hangovers, here… Though I know some of you, dear readers, will be nursing them. I refer, instead, to the ‘Day After The Feast’ leftovers conundrum those of us who hosted a Christmas Feast will be faced with…
No matter how much your guests eat, there will always be leftovers. Because you purposely make more of everything than you need to be sure you run out of nothing!
Aunt Maggie to the rescue!
I won’t be riding in on a white charger, magic wand in hand, to solve your issues. But I do have some suggestions that will help you come to your own conclusions about how best to meet your particular leftover challenges…

Behold a list of links to previous posts from this space, designed to suggest both classic and creative uses for Turkey Feast Leftovers.
Note that some even have a totally timely ‘newstalgic’ ring to them…
Here we go:
Somethings old…
Classic Turkey Sandwiches: Clubs, Hot Turkey with Gravy or simply Turkey Lettuce and Tomato are all perennially popular.
Quick Turkey Stew: With Turkey Chunks, Brussel’s Sprouts, Baby Carrots and boiled Baby Red Pota-toes. It’s a short hop from there to…
Turkey Pot Pie: Using leftover Gravy as Sauce.
Turkey Breakfast Bake: Use my fave recipe, and let your imagination run wild with ideas to add in other leftovers!
Somethings new!
Leftover-Saver Any-day Asian Soup
Turkey Stir Fry: Use your favourite Chicken Stir Fry recipe and simply substitute Turkey.
Turkey Breakfast Bake: Use my fave recipe, and let your imagination run wild with ideas to add in other leftovers!
Turkey Rollups – Like big(ger) Pigs in Blankets, but using Turkey bits, Stuffing, and whatever else looks good. Don’t sweat the pastry – go ahead and use Pillsbury Crescnet Rolls (or equivalent) Puff from the supermarket. Get at least 2 cans of Puff; everybody comes back for more of these! Or, you can give this treat an Asian touch by using Eggroll Wrappers.
Turkey ‘Strudel’: An Austrian-influenced dish, sometimes known as Fleischstrudel or a meat Boureka, served as either a main course or appetizer. Use large sheets of supermarket Puff Pastry…
My take
The day after I host as Big Festive Feast, I say, “To heck with it!” And take it easy. And drink and nibble all day long…
After the Classic Breakfast Bake… I like a plate of Hummus, a side of Pita Bread, and a platter of Cran-berry Condiments (Sauce, Relish or both!), Turkey Morsels and Crudités. Heat up some leftover Gravy for dipping. Throw in a bowl of Sour Cream with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, or any other dip(s) you like, and make it a glorious indulgence.
For beverages, start with a breakfast Mimosa. Segue to a light, refreshing White Wine in the after-noon (Riesling, Chardonnay). Splurge on a Champagne Cocktail at supper time. Followed by Coffee and Bailey’s.
Then sluice your way back to the White Wine, dessert nibbles and sinful salty snacks for an evening of classic films – featuring Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig…
