Rare ‘meat-up’
The 2025 edition of the Indianapolis 500 Classic will rattle the historic bricks this weekend. But tomorrow, May 23, all 6 WMs will converge on the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway for their first ‘meat-up’ in a decade.
Each competitor will sport a design update, and represent a regional hot dog favorite including: the Chi Dog (Midwest), New York Dog (East), Slaw Dog (Southeast), Sonoran Dog (Southwest), Chili Dog (South) and Seattle Dog (Northwest).
Fans from all over can join the fun virtually via Draftkings.com/wienie500. Participants can qualify to win their share of a $10,000 prize pool by answering a series of race-related questions in a free-to-play online event.
How to watch
The race will stream live at 2 pm ET on the FOX Sports app. And the FOX Sports Indy 500 pre-show on Sunday will feature highlights.
My take
“The Wienie 500 is racing into Indy with buns of steel, friendly chaos, and enough hot dog energy to make you look twice — even if you’re not a frankfurter fan,” quips one overexcited reviewer. tongue-in-cheek.
Taking a step back from the unrestrained fan-thusiasm… This stunt may be the boldest yet in a string of new promos by Oscar Mayer since the brand embarked on an unprecedented awareness campaign last year. We’ll be keeping our eyes out for whatever comes next!
