All of a sudden, with the week after New Years comes a deafening silence on the Fast Food Front. Just a few weak voices trying to get your attention by changing up their value menu and combo deals. I can hardly believe that the mass marketing moguls of the industry have basically declared defeat…
Basically… Have one of two different value meals for$3 each.
Nothing really new under the cold, wintry sun at BK…
COVID-19 takes toll on marketing gurus…
It appears that the Fast Food gurus have all run out of steam – or have run out of ideas to keep their brands’ names above water among consumers while the Western World recovers from the annual Holiday advertising and promo run-up. With all known options exhausted, the Fast Food folks appear to have been left asking themselves “What can we do?” and privately decided to follow the rule set a couple of millennia ago by Hippocrates and his followers: “First, do no harm!” And the most innocuous thing they could think of to do was change up their tired value meal deals. Just another indication that it’s time to change up a whole lot in the Fast Food sphere, as discussed in Burger King’s recent white paper on business model and facility redesign for the future…
Arby’s 2 For $6 Deal menu gets a refresh
Forget (almost) everything you thought you knew about the Arby’s 2 For $6 deal. Three of the 4 current mains are leaving and three new ones are on the way in to start 2021. Coming back for the usual limited time engagement are: the Crispy Fish Sandwich; the Roast Turkey & Swiss Wrap; and the Buffalo Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The only holdover from the old 2-For 6 menu is the Beef ‘N Cheddar. At participating Arby’s outlets for a limited time.
Burger King débuts $1 Your Way value menu
The new $1 menu includes: A Bacon Cheeseburger; a Chicken Jr. Sandwich; Value Fries; and a Value Soft Drink. So… For $3, you can put together a simple Chicken or Burger value meal. Not a truly impressive menu, nothing really new on offer; just a pretty good price, if you’re feeding a hungry kid. Available for a limited time at participating BK outlets across the U.S.
Taco Bell pops new $1 Loaded Taco
The Bell is also making a nominal effort to update its value menu with the addition of a $Loaded Nacho Taco. The beefy handful includes: includes The Bell’s signature seasoned beef; nacho cheese sauce; shredded Iceberg lettuce; shredded Cheddar cheese; and red tortilla strips on a flour tortilla. For a limited time, as usual.
TGI Friday’s has a ‘goodbye, 2020’ Chicken Bucket
The musically-named Cluck-It Bucket is designed to feed 2 and includes your choice of either Boneless Wings, Bone-in Wings, or Friday’s Crispy Chicken Fingers with a side of fries. The wings come tossed in your choice of sauce, while the chicken fingers come with Honey Mustard for dipping. This deal is available only for take-out (no delivery) and must be ordered through the online app. At $20.20, it sounds like a pretty good value; available through January 12 at participating locations.
And that’s the skinny…
… On what will be making some of us fatter for the next while (at participating locations). See you back here in 7 for the next edition of Fast Food Week!
