Taco Bell ‘outs’ Cheese…

Food bloggers from LA and environs tell us they’ve seen a trend recently among street vendors, to wrap their breakfast Burritos and Tacos in Cheese coats. Who ever said more Cheese was a bad thing? Not Taco Bell, who are now test marketing a Cheese-enrobed Burrito at selected Tennessee locations. They’re melting a later of Cheese on top of a regular Grilled Burrito and wrapping it in foil to make it easier to handle. Inside, it’s the same TB fillings: Red Tortilla Strips, Beef, Rice, more melted Cheese, Creamy Chipotle Sauce, and Sour Cream. If the Tennessee test is successful, the treat may appear chain-wide.

… Tests Chicken crusted in Crushed Chips

Meanwhile, in Houston, Texas and Dayton, they’;re getting ready to test new Tortilla Chip Crumb-Crusted Chicken Strips. Thew Bell says their development kitchen went through more than 100 iterations before arriving at their final version. They’ll get their own new signature Dipping Sauce, too, in time for an anticipated mid-summer chain-wide release next year.

BWW amps up Boneless Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings has listened to its fans and is making some key changes to its hallmark Boneless Wing, touting, “bigger, juicier, tastier Bo9neless Wings,” marinated in a Spice Blend and coated in a savoury Breading. BWW has also reduced the amount of Breading by one third and increased the size of Chicken  Pieces it uses in the dish.

Get Breast, two-piece Strips or three-piece Strips combos, which will include two KFC Belgian Style Waffles and a tub of Mrs. Butterworth’s Syrup to dip or pour over.

BK expanding Impossible Burger menu

Following the landslide success of its premiere Impossible Whopper market roll-out, Burger King is testing additional items featuring the popular Plant-based Beef Substitute. Cming at you, in  selected locations in Milwaukee, Cedar Rapids, Augusta, Cincinnati, and Buffalo, are a new Impossible Whopper Jr. and an Impossible (Classic) BK Hamburger. The Classsic Burger version is available as a Cheeseburger and will also show up on the Kid’s Menu.

Quizno’s tests Plant-based Corned Beef

Quizno’s is test marketing a new Vegetarian Corned Beef Sub featuring Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli Corned Beef, which is a Plant-based alternative made from Beets, Chickpeas, and other plant-based ingredients. The ‘Corned Beef’ is topped with Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Sauerkraut, and Honey French Dressing on the Bread of your choice. This is a first for quick service restos, and one that sets Quizno’s apart from mall the rest.

Pop Tarts refreshing line with Pretzel Flavour
