We’re serving everything – including sides and beverages! Delta Airlines takes Shake Shack burgers to new heights. Chili’s updates its Fried Mozz with Honey Chipotle ‘swice’. And Del Taco gets dirty with Dr. Pepper pouring Dirty Del’s soda.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No – it’s a Cheeseburger!
High-flying Fast Food fans will soon be able to order a Shake Shack Cheeseburger meal as their in-flight repast on Detla Airlines trips departing Boston. But you must pre-order – via the Fly Delta app, up to 24 hours before departure. Something tells me, they’ll be expanding this innovative menu offering to other Delta departure points if it (ahem!) takes off in Boston…
Del Taco adds new Chipotle Carne Asada Steak Burrito
It’s a chock-full ‘oversized’ flour tortilla, stuffed with, “freshly grilled carne asada steak, slow-cooked beans, cilantro lime rice, chipotle sauce, and sour cream,” and grilled.
Del Taco is already famous – almost legendary – for it’s signature carne asada menu offerings. And don’t miss DT’s new beverage offerings, under FFW’s ‘Beverages’ banner, below…
Bojangles revives its Pork Chop Griller Biscuit
This is something you don’t get anywhere else. It’s actually a slice of Pork Loin, rubbed with a blend of chili peppers and seared off just right. Served on a warmed buttermilk biscuit. Around $4, depending where you live. And the 2 For $5 Steak Biscuit Deal is still on. That’s basically a half-price value!
Lobster Bites are back at Long John Silver’s
Get your standard order of ‘wild-caught Norway lobster tails coated in a savory, buttery breading’. Either by itself, or as part of a Lobster Bites and Fish Combo, Platter, or Family Feast.
Available for a limited time, through the Holiday period. Fans absolutely love Lobster Bites. And nobody else in town does anything like them…
Sides
Chick-Fil-A brings back Chicken Tortilla Soup
This annual Holiday season fave is back, featuring a bubbling blend of: ‘shredded boneless chicken breast, navy beans, black beans, onions, corn, bell peppers, and celery, with a variety of spices in a cream-based soup, topped with seasoned tortilla strips’. Now, that’s a hearty snack… (Or mini-main!)
Beverages
Del Taco pours seasonal soda and shakes
The Dirty Del is DT’s take on the lingering ‘dirty soda’ fad, featuring Dr. Pepper, topped with Vanilla Shake Mix.
The Birthday Cake Shake is a returning fave featuring B’day Cake-flavoured Vanilla shake blended with rainbow sprinkles…
Desserts & Snacks
Chili’s updates it’s fan fave Fried Mozz…
I love this flavour hack: Honey Chipotle Mozz, the latest iteration of Chili’s popular Fried Mozzarella appetizer. Following on the smash hit success of Nashville Hot Fried Mozz, the offering perpetuates the now-famous Fried Mozz cheese-pull tradition (see photo, Top of page). Not officially on the menu – yet – but there for the asking, nevertheless. You could dip it in something spicy to complete a complementary ‘swicy’ pairing.
… Slices new Peanut Butter Pie
Peanut Butter and Chocolate, that is. LOTS of chocolate – courtesy of a Reese’s collab. The sumptuous slice is described as: ‘a creamy peanut butter and chocolate chip filling, a chocolate crust topped with ganache, and a topping of peanut butter cups and white chocolate drizzle’. Makes your sweet tooth ache, just gazing at the official promo pic…
Long John Silver cuts Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet cake is enjoying a low-key, but wide-ranging revival these days. LJS’s is commissioned from the Cheesecake Factory. The CF tops classic deep-red velvet cake with layers of cheesecake, cream cheese icing, and whipped cream.
Red Velvet Cake is a year-end Holiday classic. And The Cheese Factory’s version is about as deluxe as you can get!
Novelties
Burger King cooks up an Advent Calendar
It’s a cute ides- which uses filing cabinet-like towers featuring drawers, instead of doors, concealing ’31 Days of Deals’. If it was large enough to actually contain Whoppers and other featured deal items, it would be taller than I am. But it’s jammed, instead, with coupons for an array of 12 different treats (which obviously repeat through the month), “inspired by past and present menu items, iconic campaigns, and memorable moments throughout the rich, 70-year history of Burger King.” Just $19.54, online only, while supplies last…
‘Friends’ celebrates 30 years – with cereal? …
The other show Seinfeld fans never missed turns 30 this year. And though its into perpetual syndication with occasional rumours of revival, its spirit remains strong. Honouring the fictional coffee shop where the ensemble cast hung out – Central Perk…
… General Mills and Warner Bros. bring you limited-edition Friends cereal: “Crunchy flakes flavored with hints of coffee and vanilla.” It’s officially described as, ‘a comforting, barista-level, vanilla bean latté experience.’
… And a bobble heads (?) meal in Spain
Not sure if the heads bobble or not. And they’re pretty stylized/cartoonified. But McDonald’s Spain is offering a Friends 30th Anniversary Adult Happy Meal featuring a mini-figureines of the famous ensemble cast members. You get one per meal while the promo lasts. The Warner Brothers collab also features a bonus cup of ‘Monica’s’ Marinara Sauce…
And that’s the skinny…
… On what’s going to be …. over the coming days and weeks. See you back here in 7 for the next …. edition of Fast Food Week!
