Today is Leap Day, the one time in every four years February has ‘one day more’. And that’s occassioned a flurry of specials at fast Food joints, both chain and one-off, across the land. Check out your fave Fast Food joint or local resto for celebratory menu items.
Get a free Egg McMuffin on Monday
Monday, March 2 is National Egg McMuffin Day (at least according to McDonald’s it is) and to celebrate, McD’s is giving away free Egg McMuffins. But there are a couple of catches: you have to go in between 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. local time and you have to order first using the smartphone ordering app, where a coupon for the free McMuffin awaits you. Go for it!
Papa John’s has a Philly Cheesesteak Papadia
What’s a Papadia? It’s like a Quesadila but with fillings stuffed between two triangles of Pizza Crust ‘Flatbread’. The Philly Cheesesteak version features Steak, Onions, Green Peppers, Cheese and Philly Sauce, and comes with a Garlic Dipping Sauce. It’s a pretty substantial meal…
Dunkin’s baggin’ Snackin’ Bacon
Bacon Lovers Rejoice! Dunkin’s is rolling out a Bacon side dish at participating locations across the chain. Just Bacon, with a nice sprinkle of coarsely crushed Black Pepper and Brown Sugar (see photo, top of page). You get 10 pieces per order, which come in a Fries-like paper sleeve. Use it to customize other menu items or just snack on it by itself.
Krispy Kreme partners with Butterfinger
Krispy Kreme is launching a couple of specialty Doughnuts featuring crushed Butterfinger Candy Bars: the Butterfinger Original Filled Doughnut (basically the KK Original Glazed filled with Peanut Butter Chocolate Creme and Butterfinger icing); and the Butterfinger Fudge Cake Doughnut (a KK Chocolate Cake topped with Chocolate Icing, Peanut Butter Creme, and crushed Butterfinger sprinkles).
Taco Bel introduces Cheddar Crisps
Once the stuff that fancy restos and cool cooking shows were made of, all-Cheese Cheese Chips have hit the mass market. The Bell is rolling out bags of real Cheese Chips it calls Cheddar Crisps; little disks of Fried Cheddar that come in three flavours: Nacho, Mild Sauce, and Fire Sauce. The Bell brags, they’re Keto friendly, gluten-free, and certified vegetarian (but not vegan) with no artificial flavors or colors. They’re at 7-Eleven now and will soon be available at Amazon.com.
Good Humor celebrates 100th Anniversary…
… Of its iconic Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bar! Buy the 6-Bar freezer pack and get a coupon worth $2 on any 4- or 6-pack of Good Humor Ice Cream product. Good humor is staying low-profile on this promo; nothing particular mentioned on its website. You’ll have to cruise the freezer sections of your usual sources to find them.
