Fast Food Week!

Here it is, the Saturday between Christmas and New Years… And the Fast Food Powers That Be are, generally, taking the Holidays off. But there have been a few stories of interest, even though most folks are concentrating on festive feasting at home…

The B&W Mocha Collection is back at Starbucks.

Arby’s Cajun Fish Sandwich is back

The guys who proudly proclaim, ‘We’ve Got The Meats’ now have a Fish, again. Testing last year must have generated good results because the chain is now bringing back its Cajun Fish Sandwich for the Lenten season. It’s an Alaskan Pollock fillet topped with Lettuce and a spicy Cajun Tartare Sauce, served on a Sesame seed Bun. It will join Arby’s Crispy Fish and King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe until Easter.

Church’s reprises Chicken Megabites

They’re Buttermilk Ranch Megabites, which is a rather grand way to describe your average Chicken  Nugget dusted with a Buttermilk Ranch (BR) flavoured seasoning. Creditable BR flavour without the sticky-finger mess. They come in 5- and 8-chunk portions for a limited time, at participating locations.

Starbucks celebrates New Years in Black and White

The fancy Coffee chain is bringing back its Black and White Mocha Collection, a trio of Mocha beverages that went over well last year during the Holidays. There’s Black and White Mocha, Black and White Hot Cocoa, and Black and White Mocha Frappuccino. All topped with Whipped Cream and Chocolate ‘sequins’.

It’s slim pickings, but…

…It’s what there is this week. Back in seven with another edition, and I hope a fatter one, to start the New Year.
