“We Served Only McDonald’s On Trumpforce One!”

US President Donald Trump has come under humourous scrutiny many a time for his eating habits. But a story from Health Digest reveals just HOW unhealthy the First Diner’s daily eating habits are. Not to mention boring…

Food from an array of outlets when they visited the White House
for the traditional Champions Presidential Luncheon…

Almost ‘negative’ variety…

Trump usually starts his day with All-American Bacon and Eggs. In a 2016 interview, Trump admitted he isn’t a breakfast fan…

“I try to avoid breakfast actually,” he said. “If I have [breakfast], I like bacon and eggs.”

Okay… Eggs have recently been absolved of their previous (supposed) sins by health and nutrition experts. But Bacon is still one of the worst dietary offenders on nutritionists ‘Least Wanted’ lists. And the traditional way to prepare Bacon and Eggs is to fry it all in a pool of bacon fat. Bad Idea!

For lunch – and we’ve heard this one fairly often, too – Trump likes Meatloaf. But he often skips lunch altogether, too. In fact, former Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski once revealed that the President might go 16 hours without eating if he’s busy – such as when he’s on the campaign trail.

For supper, The Donald usually orders a well-done T-Bone Steak.

Sneaky snacks…

Word is, Trump’s White House office and residence are always well-stocked with snacks including Oreos, Vienna Fingers, potato chips, and pretzels. And he partakes of them regularly. So it’s not as if he’s going hungry!

Berverage blowout

Everyone knows Trump’s favourite beverage is Diet Coke. And, again, he insists the stuff be available everywhere he goes… He’s been known to decline a cup of coffee at a banquet and ask for a Diet Coke, instead.

But even if it has no sugar, Diet Coke still has caffeine and other unhappy stuff… Insiders say Trump quaffs up to a dozen Diet Cokes a day. And that adds up to a whopping 552 milligrams of caffeine. The US Food and Drug Administration, and other national health protection agencies, say most adults can consume up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day without impacting their health.

In addition, The World Health Organization reports that artificially sweetened drinks like Diet Coke, ‘do little to help you lose weight, and they’re associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and mortality’.

‘Fast Food fits all’

That could be Trump’s creedo when dining away from home or in a hurry. Or, specifically, in transit.

And as we all know, his fave brand is McDonald’s. He held court at a highly-orchestrated stop at a local McDonald’s along the campaign trail last year, where he posed for photos working the Fry Line and the Drive-Thru window.

Also widely reported in the media was the fact that Saudi Arabia had a custom-made and fully functioning McDonald’s foodtruck made for Trump’s visit earlier this year.

And the Prez was effusive in his praise for McD’s in a speech he delivered just last month. He was the guest speaker at McDonald’s corporate Impact Summit in Washington DC.

“I’m […] one of your all-time most loyal customers,” Trump said proudly, adding that, “[While] other politicians fly around on campaign planes stocked with expensive catering, on Trump Force One we served only McDonald’s.”

My take

On one hand, Trump’s dining preferences – aside from being excruciatingly boring for most folks – are really, really unhealthy. Some say it’s wonder the 78-year-old has lasted this long. I say… There’s still time for Trump’s ugly dining habits and unwise food choices to catch up with him…
