Sunday Musings: Cheerio-Os Get Even Cheerier

Cheerios Cereal has been around since 1941 and has changed little since its inception. “With over 2.4 million Canadians living with heart disease, we hope to spark conversations on the importance of heart health in an approachable and fun way, while reminding people that Cheerios can support your heart-healthy lifestyle,” said Fawad Farrukh, Director of Marketing for Cereal at General Mills Canada. “Made with whole-grain oats, Cheerios is a simple & delicious food that can be a part of a heart-healthy diet.”

February is Heart Health Month in Canada.

The fun part

Changing the Os to little ‘Happy Hearts’ is not entirely homage to Valentine’s Day, though that’s definitely part of it. They may be the perfect Valentine’s Day Breakfast first course!

And definitely healthy…

Like a few other, select, legendary Cereals – including but not limited to Wheaties, Shreddies, Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat, and Muffets –  Cheerios boasts an impressive Nutrition Info chart. I’m linking an impressive, lengthy article from healthline.com explaining in detail both the dietary pluses and minuses of Cheerios. Read the post, muse upon the third-party, objective ‘facts’, and decide for yourself…
