Here’s a nice, serendipitous summer trifle for a Sunday… The latest results of a poll by the Ice Cream industry asking what flavours folks order most. But that’s not all the survey looked at. You may be surprised by where the most Ice Cream is consumed and which kind of cone folks prefer…
Oh, yes! My nominee for The Ultimate Summer Treat!
A new IDFA survey of its members, based on sales, shows that Vanilla and Chocolate are still one-two in the ratings. But the remaining eight of the top ten make interesting reading…
- Vanilla
- Chocolate
- Cookies & Cream
- Mint Chocolate Chip
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Buttered Pecan
- Cookie Dough
- Strawberry
- Moose Tracks (vanilla ice cream with fudge and peanut butter cups)
- Neopolitan
And what about the ‘geographics’?
The survey revealed that folks in the Great Lakes Region eat the most Ice Cream – a surprise for folks like me who assumed it would be residents of Florida, the Deep South, the Southwest and California! Wisconsin doesn’t feature Cows and Cheese on its license plates for nothing!
And the cones? Seems that regular and Waffle Cones are equally prized by U.S. Ice Cream lovers. I’d have thought regular cones would out-sell waffle cones hands down. For the record, I prefer waffle cones!
And… The survey found that Ice Cream Sandwiches are the most popular frozen novelty product, eclipsing Ice Cream Cups, Pops, Cones, and Bars.
Now you know everything!
