Wingstop launches Hot Honey Dry Rub
This one was obviously created with folks who hate sticky fingers in mind. I’m one of them! Besides reining in the mess, the rub adds crunch to the deep-fried crust. The heat is sharp and intense, from Cayenne and Ancho peppers. Available now through the summer (i.e.- at least until Labour Day).
Burger King adds Impossible King
BK is expanding it’s plant-based menu with the addition of a new Impossible King, for a limited time, at participating locations.
You’re looking at the standard Quarter Pound King with an Impossible patty instead of regular Beef. It’s being offered as part of a number of current ‘2-For’ deals and à la carte.
White Castle premieres Chicken Ring Sliders
The Castle took a while to put two-and-two together, but they finally did the obvious: put Chicken Rings in a slider! The Bacon Ranch Chicken Ring Slider starts with two crispy-fried chicken rings, then adds bacon, and Hidden Valley Original Ranch. Long John Silver’s pops coconut shrimp
Coconut Popcorn Shrimp have arrived at Long John’s for the summer. They’re described as a seasonal twist on the chain’s regular popcorn shrimp. Sweet Coconut sounds pretty yummy to me!
There are lots of ways into this deal: Ger ’em in a Snackbox, a $10 Sea Share, as part of a Combo, as part of a Platter, or as part of a Family Feast. Just get ’em while they’re here.
Wendy’s giving away free Breakfast Sandwiches!
Wendy’s is celebrating the launch of ‘Wendyverse, Sunrise City’ with a new deal available in-app only, claimable at the online virtual resto. No minimum purchase needed, but it’s presumed you’ll be on the app making one when you apply for the deal. After you claim the deal, you have 30 days to redeem it.
Taco Bell collabs with Cheez-It on new bites…
The Bell is testing two new menu items featuring the cheesy crunchiness of Cheez-It crackers. The Big Cheez-It Tostada uses a jumbo Cheez-It – 16 times the area of a regular one – as a base for layers of the Bell’s signature seasoned beef, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and cheddar cheese.
The Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme adds a jumbo Cheez-It to the regular Crunch Wrap, doubling the crunch. It’s a very limited market test for now, but these new bites appear to have the potential to achieve permanent menu status.
… Pours new Mango Whip Freeze
New Mango Freeze and Mango Whip Freeze will be around for the summer, at least. The basic Freeze is your standard ice slush beverage flavoured with Mango. Add vanilla cream and you get the deluxe, Whip version.
Krispy Kreme celebrates July 4 with free doughnuts!
KK says all you have to do to get a free doughnut of your choice now until July 4 is to show up at the store wearing a red, white and blue outfit.
Incidentally, they’re offering specially decorated sinkers through July 4, dressed up in red, white and blue. Cinnamon rolls are specifically excluded from the deal, which will available at participating at participating locations only.
Cinnabon goes cinnamon-free
Cinnabon, the cinnamon roll people, have broken with tradition and released new Chocolate BonBites; no cinnamon in sight. The new baby rolls are rolled in chocolate spread before baking and topped with chocolate and cream cheese frosting after. Available at al Cinnabon mall locations, in 4- and 16-piece packs.
SONIC brings back Shark Week Slush
It’s an annual tradition, now. And it starts on July 24, to coincide with Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week ‘festival’ There’s nothing else quite like this ocean-blue drink, topped with strawberry sauce (i.e.- blood), and shark gummies…
