Prince George, firstborn of Prince Wills and Duchess Kate, will be a King some day, but he’s already eating like one at Lunchtime at his exclusive school in London. The sample menus for the school’s rotating luncheon schedule are worthy of at least one or two Jr. Michelin Stars…
A typical luncheon tableau at the cafeteria where Prince George
grabs his mid-day meal on weekdays…
Little George is now five years old and has started attending Thomas’s Day School. If he was spoiled at home, at Kensington Palace, he’s literally being catered to royally at school.
The Snack…
The kids get a snack mid-morning, consisting of Milk or Water plus either a Fresh Fruit selection or a Freshly Baked Scone. All organic, of course. But that’s just the beginning.
Luncheon…
Lunch is no mere Mac and Cheese, a Bun and an Apple affair. In fact, it’s a full-scale plated meal with Vegetarian, Pescatarian and Gluten-free options. Then, there’s dessert, always heavy on Fruit and Whole Grains. Here’s the rundown for Monday, September 10, 2018:

My take…
It’s sad that this kid, someday to be King of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth, will probably never have the chance to taste good old fashioned Bangers and Mash with Mushy Peas, Fish and Chips, or a Fast Food Burger. How does a King get to know the way his subjects live if he doesn’t eat like they do, once in a while? Okay. There are menu items on the Thomas’s list such as Piri Piri Chicken and Vegan Paneer Pulao which may equate in some sense with the Butter Chicken and Vindaloo takeaways the common folk like so much. But that’s a real stretch.
One consolation remains: If George joins the Armed Forces when he gets older, following the tradition adhered to by his Dad, Granddad, Great Granddad, and their forbears, he’ll at least be exposed to MREs (field rations) and Mess Hall fare if he’s deployed, like his Dad and Uncle Harry were. There’s still hope for The Monarchy!
