to North American McDonald’s locations in June…
McDonald’s bringing the world to our doorsteps?
Documents leaked from McDonald’s head office to Business Insider suggest that a selection of the chain’s international favourites may be appearing on North American McD’s menus as early as June of this year. Featured items are said to include a Stroopwafel McFlurry, a Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger, a Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and Cheesy Bacon Fries (see photo above). The Fries and the McFlurry were tested in some U.S. markets last year. They must have been a hit!
Popeye’s ups the ante with a new Tenders deal
Popeye’s is bringing back a familiar limited time special: its Tenders and a Biscuit Box. Previously, the chain has offered 3 Tenders with a Biscuit and Dipping Sauce for (US)$3.99. This time, it’s 4 tenders. Must be feeling pressure from the competition! Depending on the location you patronize, you may be able to chose from Crispy or regular Seasoned Tenders.
Church’s offers new bargain box
Church’s Chicken (often found alongside a Harvey’s Burger location) is offering a new $5.50 Spicy Tenders Meal as their latest limited-time promotion. You get: three white-meat spicy chicken tenders, Fries, Creamy Jalapeno Dipping Sauce, a Honey-Butter Biscuit, a Jalapeño Pepper, and an Apple Pie Turnover. That’s a full course meal! Available for a limited time only.
New Fruit Smoothies from Coke
It’s hard to find a niche in the Bottled Beverages market that hasn’t yet been exploited by the Coca Cola Co. But the global drinks purveyor has found one and is filling it with a line of new bottled Simply Fruit Smoothies. They’re made with fresh (not from concentrate) Fruit Juices and Purées and feature all-natural flavourings. Try them in Strawberry Banana, Mango Pineapple, or Orchard Berry.
KFC makes sweet partnership with Cinnabon
KFC has noticed that Cinnabon’s Mini Cinnamon Rolls are a big hit on at least one competitor’s menu. So, they’ve forged their own alliance with the Mall Bakery chain to create something different: a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Biscuit (see photo top of page). It’s KFC’s standard Biscuit but smothered in a Cinnamon Brown Sugar Glaze and topped with a drizzle of Cream Cheese Frosting. They’ll be available from April 29 through June 30.
Krispy Kreme does something different for Summer
KK is offering a new Summer treat: a Key Lime Doughnut. It’s a filled Doughnut stuffed with Key Lime Cream and topped with Green icing. And it’s one of three flavours in KK’s Fruit Inspired Collection along with Strawberry and Pineapple. The Collection is available for a limited time, from May 6 through June 16.
Kit Kat launches new flavour
For the first time in a decade, Kit Kat is offering a new flavour: Mint + Dark Chocolate. It’s chocolate on the bottom and Green Mint flavoured White Chocolate on top. This is just the first in a line of brave new flavours they’re calling Kit Kay Duos. No word yet of what the other new flavours will be, but Kit Kat lovers are waiting with bated breath…
