Little Caesar Quattro comes to Canada
Little Caesar is bringing his Quattro Deep Dish Pizza to Canada for the Holidays. To refresh you, that’s a large, rectangular deep-dish pie separated into four quarters, each with different topping combos. Canadians get a little bonus: The Quattro was offered in the U.S. for a limited run, but on a standard round crust!
BK Canada Offers Dill Pickle Nuggets
Yes, Dill Pickle Chicken Nuggets. It makes sense, if you consider how amazingly popular all those copy-cat Fried Chicken Sandwiches out there are, with a simple dress-up of pickles!
And it’s not just the flavour of dills; the nuggets are described as containing, “white meat chicken and dill pickles, battered and deep-fried until a perfect golden brown.” It’s a unique bite, and it’s only available in Canada – for now.
Krispy Kreme says, ‘Let it Snow!’
The Doughnut monster is offering a new winter-themed selection of iced doughnuts including: a new Poppy Penguin Doughnut, a new Snowman Smile Doughnut; a new Snowy Sprinkle Doughnut; the fan fave Santa Belly Doughnut; and the popular Chocolate Iced with Holiday Sprinkles Doughnut. The ‘Let It Snow’ collection premiered yesterday – Black Friday – and is around through the next few weeks.
Subway reprises its Caramel Brownie Cookie
The gooey, chewy Caramel Brownie Cookie is back at Subway for the holidays (see photo, top of page). For those who haven’t had the pleasure, it’s a chocolate brownie-flavoured cookie with brownie and caramel chunks folded in, topped with a rich, thick caramel ooze. It’s a triple-sweet chocolate lovers’ treat!
Gingerbread OREOs are back for the Holidays
The much-anticipated Gingerbread OREOs are back for the season. They’re the only version of the cookie that features Gingerbread wafers and a special signature filling studded with sugar crystals.
They’re apparently available now at all the usual major supermarkets. For a limited time, of course.
Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags available again
Wendy’s is once again offering its Frosty Key Tags over the holidays, good for a free Jr. Frosty with any purchase from now through the end of 2022 at participating Wendy’s locations. A great stocking stuffer for the Wendy’s fans on your list! They’re just $2 each, in store.
Remember: 85 percent of all proceeds from the sale of Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags are donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Sour Patch Kids Holiday Coal returns
That tongue-in-cheeky Sour Patch Kids flavour, Holiday Coal, is back on the shelves for a limited run. The Sour Black Raspberry, coal-shaped gummies are available at all the usual outlets.
International Alert I! Popeye’s UK débuts Plant Burger
Popeye’s – which has traditionally taken an independent approach to new menu developments – is launching a new Veggie Burger Pattie in the UK, based not on pea protein as the other major plant burgers are, but on the chain’s signature Cajun-spiced Red Beans. The breaded patty is deep fried, and topped with pickled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and Red Creole Sauce.
The whole thing comes on a toasted vegan bun. It’s a partnership with the LIVEKINDLY Collective – ‘making plant-based living the new norm’. No word when or if the new sammy will be available in North America…
International Alert II! Two-Chicken KFC Sandwiches
KFC Japan is at it again, cooking up another crazy sandwich designed to grab customers’ interest and get some viral social media attention, too. The Filet & Cutlet Sandwich features both a Chicken Cutlet (patty), and a standard boneless Fillet, stacked on a toasted bun with lettuce and a special sauce.
Like two meals in one. You’d better be a Sumo wrestler – or someone with a similarly big appetite – to take it on!
International Alert III! BK Japan quad burger
Not to be outdone by KFC, Burger King Japan is rolling out a 4-patty, total 1 lb. / 245 g meat cargo topped with American (Processed) cheese, cheese sauce, ketchup and onions.
It’s special offering for the Japanese food observance of Good Meat Day, November 29. But it’s available now through December 2. Another one for the Sumo wrestlers.
