Taco Bell Crispy Melt Taco: Sounds like a sure winner!
Taco Bell launches Crispy Melt Taco chain-wide
It’s arrived. The CMT is described as, “a freshly fried daily white corn shell […] layered with velvety nacho cheese sauce and a three cheese blend of cheddar, mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses. It’s further topped with crisp lettuce, more cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and reduced-fat sour cream.” Official photos show a fairly large, well-stuffed taco, too. But you know what they say about official food portraits! (And who doesn’t?)
KFC Chicken Wraps coming
They’ll drop onto official KFC menus this coming week (Feb. 6, 2023) for a limited following an all-start test run a few months ago. (See photo, top of page.) There will be two varieties: a Classic Chicken Wrap (a hand-breaded Extra Crispy Tender, crunchy pickles and creamy mayo, wrapped in a warm tortilla); and a Spicy Slaw Chicken Wrap (an Extra Crispy Tender covered in a mix of KFC coleslaw, spicy sauce and crispy pickles, also wrapped in a warm tortilla.
Papa John’s flips the cheese
Papa John’s breaks tradition with a new cheese crust pizza. The difference is, the cheese is on the bottom!
The new Crispy Parm Pizza is made with a blend of Parmesan and Romano cheeses baked right into its crust, giving it a beautiful golden crispy bottom finish. Your choice of toppings. Available now through National Pizza Day, February 9, 2023.

Smashburger tests new plant-burger
A WHAT, you say? That’s right! A Jackfruit Burger… The premium jackfruit patty, “delivers a mouthwatering meaty texture; […] a great protein alternative that’s lower in fat and calories…”
“…Toppings include American (Processed) cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, Smash Sauce, and ketchup, on a toasted bun.” It’s available under a very limited test in the Colorado, New York, and New Jersey regions.
What do Sour Kids give for Valentines’s day?
Sour Hearts, of course. Except they’re what the maker calls sour-then-sweet. “Valentine’s Day can be a sour subject for some,” said Lauryn McDonough, Senior Marketing Director, Candy, Seasonals, and Chocolate at Mondelēz International. “Sour Patch Kids Sour Hearts candy plays on the mischievous side of Valentine’s, while still delivering the sour-then-sweet treat. The flavour is actually a brief smear of sour on the surface of a sweet black raspberry chewy candy.
Krispy Kreme goes heart-shaped
No mistaking KK’s Valentine’s offering: a selection of 4 new heart-shaped V-Day sinkers gaily festooned with pink icing, Hershey’s Chocolate Chips and red-white-pink heart-shaped candy sprinkles.
The filled ‘flavours’ include: the HERSHEY’S ‘I Pick You’ heart-shaped doughnut’; the HERSHEY’S Double Chocolate KISS; the HERSHEY’S Strawberry Dream; and the HERSHEY’S Chocolate Chip Caramel KREME. Assorted dozens come in specially-adorned Valentine’s boxes.
Chocolate Cheerios back for V-Day
Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios feature sweetened oat cereal infused with strawberry and chocolate flavors. Not the healthiest cereal, but a yummy snack with just a pinch of healthy whole oats. There’s also snack-intended Chocolate Cheerios in Valentine’s Day Multipacks in Valentine’s-themed snack pouches containing a mix of O-and heart-shaped, chocolate-flavored Cheerios.
