So… Do you? Huh? DO you? The Arby’s Diablo Dare: Hottest Arby’s offering to date…
Arby’s issues new Diablo Dare
It’s billed as Arby’s’ hottest-yet sandwich and fries offering. Start with Roast Beef or Chicken sandwiches dosed with fiery hot seasoning, fire-roasted jalapeños, Diablo BBQ sauce and a toasted red chipotle bun. Then add super-hot fries topped with cheddar cheese sauce, fire roasted jalapeños, fiery seasoning and Diablo BBQ sauce. Available for a limited time at participating Arby’s locations across the map.
Chipotle offering deep-discount Boo-ritos
If you show up at the store in person, in costume, after 3 p.m., on Hallowe’en (October 31). And your scan your Chipotle Rewards app at the register to get the discount.
What kind of discounts? Regularly-priced entrées go for $9.10 to $12.60. So, the flat-$6.00 deal is a really good discount.
Jack-O’-Lantern Pizza back at Papa Johns
It’s a Hallowe’en tradition. The original pumpkin-dressed pie is back for a limited time – until October 31 only! – at participating PJs locations. The large thin-crust pie id topped with cheese and pepperoni, which serves as a border to the pizza as well as the eyes and mouth of the Jack-o. (See photo, top of page.)
Voortman’s wafers in three Holiday lavours
One of the true old-school / retro seasonal favourites many Baby Boomers can really relate to is the classic Voortman’s wafer.
Found year round in the cookie aisle in Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, this Holiday season, they are also available for a limited time in Candy Cane, Egg Nogg, and Chocolate Mint flavoured versions. Voortman’s is also offering traditional Gingerbread Cookies, Shortbreads in Holiday shapes, and ‘Assorted Festive Cookies’.
Cheetos contest echoes recent fan-fuelled Taco Bell vote
Taco Bell recently asked fans to vote on which of two vintage menu items to bring back. The Enchirito (Enchilada-Burritro cross) narrowly beat out the Double-Decker Taco by more than 2 to 1.
Now, Cheetos is asking fans to vote on which of 3 hertitage flavours to ‘ressurect’. Choose from: Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Chipotle Ranch, Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Pepper Puffs, or Cheetos Nashville Hot. Vote at: vote at CheetosChesterville.com Look for results, and the big ‘resurrection’ itself, early in 2023.
Shake Shack pours Fall beverages…
The theme is ‘fruity’ and the flavours include: Yuzu Orange Cider, Harvest Berry Lemonade, and Concord Grape Punch. You can order any of those as a Fifty-Fifty: half the fall beverage of your choice, and half Organic Harney & Son’s black tea. You’ll pay a premium for these special bevs. But if $3.99 is not too much for you, to recapture a mouthful of long-gone summer, go for it!
… Teams up with Olvera
World renowned fine dining Chef Enrique Olvera, of the globe’s currently 5th ‘best’ restaurant, Pujol, in Mexican City is planning a collab with the Shack, creating 5-star three-0course meals from Shake Shack ingredients. The Fast Food chain has already done this promo with star chefs Dominique Crenn, Pinky Cole and Junghyun Park. Tickets are available now, for each of three seatings in New York City and Los Angeles. No word which charity the proceeds will benefit, but we assume there is one.
Adult Happy Meals going for up to $300K on eBay
Cheese! (the exclamation, not the food)! I guess it’s true: There are collectibles, then there are Collectibles. Which is to say, the rice they’ll fetch down the road depends on the nostalgia fore behind them, and the loose-cash available to folks who want them. For movies, its the huge ones, like the Star Wars franchise, and obscure titles later proclaimed classics, like Casablanca.
Of course, the relative rareness of the object in question also counts for a lot. But the Really Good stuff might be anything from kids’ toys to comic books, to posters, to salt-and-pepper shakers. Now it’s the new Adult Happy Meals from McD’s. They’re designed to celebrate the nostalgia older folks now cherish for the regular kids’ Happy Meals of their youth. The new meals come with toys already deemed as collectible as the originals.
