Wendy’s launching Breakfast Across Canada
Wendy’s is looking to add revenues and add customer appeal by slicing out a chunk of the Fast Food breakfast market in Canada. Leading the charge is the The Breakfast Baconator – Wendy’s biggest breakfast item in the U.S. – built on a premium burger bun and featuring grilled sausage, American (Processed) cheese, bacon, an egg, more cheese and more bacon, topped with Swiss cheese sauce. That’ll get you through to lunch, alright! There’s a full breakfast menu in the wings, which we’ll bring you when Wendy’s unveils it.
SONIC builds Bacon-on-Bacon burger
The Bacon on Bacon Quarter Pounder Double Cheeseburger includes a lot of food: 2 beef patties, two slices of American (Processed) cheese; 4 slices of bacon; as well as mayo, pickles and onions on a toasted bun. Available for a limited time starting March 1.

… When you buy any ‘Handcrafted’ Burger. They’re boneless ‘wings’, breaded and tossed in your choice of sauce; Classic Hot Buffalo; Honey BBQ; Sweet Asian Chile; or Garlic Parmesan.

Taco Bell resurrects ‘Beefy Melt Burrito’ nameplate…
The Bell offered a ‘Beefy Melt Burrito’ back in the 20-teens, but this one is significantly different. As you’d expect it’s based on a soft flour tortilla, topped with The Bell’s signature spiced ground beef, Mexican rice, sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, and crispy tortilla strips.

Buy one, get one free on Tuesdays through March 29, when you order through the mobile app. We’re talking the Seasoned Beef Crunchy Taco only (signature seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheddar in a crunchy yellow corn taco shell), and they’ll be keeping track: You can only get the deal once on any valid Tuesday.
Popeye’s offering flounder Sandwich for Lent
It’s baaaaak! The popular Popeye’s Flounder Sandwich, and it’s available this year in Classic and Cajun versions. And I can tell you from long personal experience, it’s a really good fish sandwich!
The difference between the two is the sauce; regular tartar for the classic, and a spicy sauce for the Cajun. Both are served with pickle rounds on a brioche bun.
Shrimp Nibblers back at White Castle
Thew Castle is bringing back its popular Shrimp Nibblers for the Lenten season. They’re available in small, medium and ‘snack’ sizes. Also for Lent, don’t forget the Panko Fish Sliders and Fish Nibblers which are on the WC permanent menu, year-round.
KIND snacks want you to stop eating their sugary treats…
… At least for a while. It’s to promote a commitment to healthy treats, like nuts, seeds and fresh fruits. KIND is offering a special Fruit and Nut Box, containing ‘a curated selection’ of fresh, natural whole products. It’s an online-only product, available at the KIND Online Store. KIND will also open a special pop-up ‘Secret Farmer’s Market’ in NYCs West Village, where folks can enter a KIND store featuring fruits, nuts seeds and other produce. The company is also going to shut down online ordering of its sugary products on March 1 and 2, to bolster the promo.
Krispy Kreme, TWIX partner for limited-time treats
There are three different crossover doughnuts in the collection: a Mini Caramel Cookie Doughnut topped with Twix crumbles; a Caramel Cookie Crunch Original Filled Doughnut topped with Twix crumbles; and a Caramel Cookie Crunch Bar Doughnut stuffed with an actual Twix finger in it.
This sweet-on-sweet-on-sweet architecture is bound to satisfy the most voracious sweet tooth – and overload the rest of us!
Dunkin’s features Shamrock Macchiato for spring
The new Iced Shamrock Macchiato is certainly a lovely green, layered beverage, served in a clear plastic cup to make hay of the visuals. It’s described as a deep espresso layered over Irish Creme flavor, with hints of sweet cream and vanilla. You’re apparently supposed to think of Irish Cream liqueur. It’s the jewel in the crown of Dunkin’s spring lineup, which also includes: a Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew; a Salted Caramel Signature Latte; two versions of a Roasted Tomato Toast; and a Chocolate Croissant.
‘Nitro’ Pepsi blasts onto the marketplace
Not nitroglycerine, but nitrogen-infused, this new fizzy quaff which the nitrogen bubbles produce a rich, creamy and more voluminous head. The idea is that the nitrogen-fuelled head looks like a draft beer probably prompted the new flavour names: Draft Cola and Vanilla Draft Cola. They’ll begin to appear on store shelves March 28.
