Mostly quiet on the Fast Food Front this week… I guess the Mains category comes up shorter than usual because most folks will be celebrating Easter at home, with family. But Papa John’s and Taco Bell both have new specialty menus. And Tabasco goes Pop….

This week’s go-to, ‘to-go’ treats…

Tabasco embraces pop cuisine
The ancient and venerable ‘mother of hot sauces’, Tabasco, is diversifying. A little. In a cautious-seeming move, the Louisiana sauce maker is introducing a new ‘flavour’: Buffalo.
With Tabasco’s history and know-how, I’ll bet their new Buffalo will show everybody else how to make it!
KFC Adds Nugget Sauces

Sun Chips have just come out with a new idea that other salty-snack makers are sure to copy. Two flavours in the same bag. And it’s a limited ‘edition’ to celebrate the coming eclipse.

Lays chips are going retro this spring with a re-release of 4 ‘heritage’ flavours: Crispy Taco, BLT, Fried Pickle and Lime & Cracked Pepper. The Flavor That Hits Home collection was inspired by four different regions of the United States.
“We’re helping fans taste the cherished dishes they know and love from their hometowns in an entirely new way,” says Pepsico/Lay’s spokesperson Tina Mahal.
And that’s the skinny…
