It’s official. Fully 80 per cent of the usually massive U.S. feed corn crop was destroyed by this past summer’s prolonged drought. The Canadian corn crop (with about a third of it harvested) has not been all that bountiful, either.
A corn shortage means a severe shortage of the highly nutritious stuff cattle usually live on on over the winter. And that means a potential shortage of beef on your dinner table and our sandwiches starting sometime later this fall or winter.
