Taco Bell follows up Fried Chicken Sammy with Taco
Taco Bell is offering a new Crispy Chicken Taco as an extension/follow-up to its recently-added Fried Chicken Sandwich. Competitors have rushed to post send-ups of the new offering on social media, simply turning the official product-portrait photo of the aforementioned TB Chicken Sandwich sideways, with the bun halves posing as the sides of a Taco Shell and the same chicken breast in the middle. Funny part is, they’re not really that far of the real thing (see picture, above)!
Dunkin’s does avocado toast
I thought the Avocado Toast thing was passé, but the Doughnut store chain has added Avocado Toast as a breakfast item on its spring menu, along with a list of other seasonal goodies. The Toast features pureed avocado with sea salt, black pepper and lemon, schmeared on a slice of Dunkin’s sourdough bread, and topped with a sprinkle of Everything Bagel Seasoning.
Cookie Dough still ‘a thing’ too, apparently
Pillsbury is now shipping new Lucky Charms Cookie Dough, for baking or snacking, along with a spring trio of new Doughs celebrating Easter. The spring collection includes Bunny-shaped Sugar Cookies, Chick-shaped Cookies and Egg-shaped cookies. Get ’em now at your usual Pillsbury outlet.
Lucky Charms turns your milk green for St. Pat’s
Lucky Charms cereal is issuing a new, limited-time cereal that features special St. Patrick’ Day Marshmallows including Green Shamrocks that turn your milk green. The St. Pat’s Day edition LCs are exactly like regular ones in every other respect.
Cheez-Its adds new Loaded Pop Corn Snacks
Available in Loaded Cheddar and Loaded White Cheddar variations, the new snack is reported to pack a ‘load’ of flavour into every bite. It also, apparently produces the same kind of finger-crusting experience as other flavour-dusted snacks, the original exemplar of which was good old Cheezies. Cheez-Its Loaded Popcorn Snacks are being rolled out gradually to the usual outlets across the land now.
Boutique Ice Cream maker adds Fried Chicken look-alike
California boutique Ice Cream maker Life Raft Treats has débuted Not Fried Chicken Ice cream bars, treats that look amazingly like real Deep Fried Crusted chicken pieces. They’re made with a premium White Ice Cream, shaped like chicken pieces and crusted with crushed Corn Flakes. A beautiful example of the confectioners’ art. But Why?
