Popeye’s celebrates Chicken Sandwich birthday
It was 5 years ago this summer that Popeye’s became the first competitor to release a crispy chicken sandwich to challenge Chick-Fil-A’s supremacy in that niche. As you probably know, other Fast Food brands hastened to follow suit. They called it the Chicken Sandwich War. Today (August 12) only, you can get a free Chicken Sandwich with the purchase of a regular Chicken Sandwich combo. The BOGO deal is available only through the app or the website.And it’s only good on delivery orders.
Burger King launches wraps
Snack Wraps, that is. BK Crispy Wraps Crispy Wraps include chicken (an oblong patty), lettuce, tomato, and sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla.
They come in three flavours: Classic, Spicy and Honey Mustard. Available at participating restaurants August 14, for a limited time.
White Castle wants your recipes
… For dishes that can be made with their signature sliders. You’ll recall the fad for for slider casseroles (see photo, top of page) that came and went fairly quickly a year or two ago. Now, the Castle is looking for your recipes that use their sliders as the basis for a creative family-feeding main. Submit your recipe between now and September 4 for a chance to win, “…free Sliders for a year, recognition at a special event at White Castle’s home office in early 2024, and White Castle swag.”
Jack In The Box amps up Sourdough Jack
JITB is adding more meat and more cheese to its popular Sourdough Jack to create a new, limited time Double SD Jack.
They start with Jack’s signature sourdough bread, then stack up two grilled beef patties, twice the usual the hickory-smoked bacon, two slices of Swiss-style cheese, one slice of American cheese, tomato, mayo, and ketchup. Available now through October 10, by itself or starring in a new combo.
Dairy Queen reprises Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard
And it’s the Blizzard flavour of the Month! The fan fave swirls cheesecake pieces and fudge-covered salty caramel pieces in to DQ’s classic vanilla soft serve. Available for a limited time, at participating locations.
Philly débuts new plant-based spreads
The first name in spreadable cream cheese has jumped aboard the plant-based bandwagon releasing three new flavours: Original, Strawberry, and Chive & Onion.
Philly’s magic plant-based formula is includes water, coconut oil, modified potato starch, and fava bean protein. They say it tastes and eats just like dairy cream cheese. It ain’t cheap, but plant-based snackers should love it.
