Taco Bell does Dippin’ Tacos…
The Bell continues to innovate its menu after a major strip-out and refocus on its core menu items (i.e.- tacos) a couple of years back. Now, they’re introducing what they call Dippin’ Tacos, which seem to be right on point. Two versions are offered: One based on The Bell’s signature seasoned Beef, the other on new Shredded Beef. The latter has been compared by some reviewers to Birra. Choose Red Sauce or Nacho Sauce for dipping. Simple but sumptuous…
… Announces come-back winner
We mentioned a little while back, that The Bell was running a contest to determine which of two former main menu items would be coming back (for a limited time).
The Enchirito (Enchilada-Burritro cross) narrowly beat out the Double-Decker Taco by more than 2 – 1. Some 67 percent of the 760,000 Bell Rewards members who voted backed the Enchirito. It’ll be back from November 17 to November 30.
Whataburger has ‘natural’ crunch
Whataburger has given some serious thought to its latest menu item: the Chili Cheese Burger. It’s a big, juicy burger with two beef patties, two slices of American (Processed) cheese, beef chili, embedded corn chips, mustard, and onions, served on a toasted five-inch bun. That’s right: corn chips. Reviewers say it gives the thing a definite dose of Fritos’ Pie crunch. I say that makes it a truly original innovation on the chili cheeseburger; one folks will enjoy that doesn’t cost the resto a fortune to implement. There is also a Jr. version with a single patty on a 4 in. bun.
Eggo premieres ‘Vegan Chicken’ Waffle
The Incogmeato Plant-Based Chik’n & Eggo Liège Style Waffle Sandwich is a mouthful no matter how you look at it. Looks great in the official portraits, anyway.
Except maybe for the Morningstar Farms veggie chicken patty. Sorry, guys, but it has that too-smooth, too evenly browned, too regular surface texture that always calls out a faux meat substitute. On the other hand, the Eggo Liège Style Waffle ‘bun’ looks great!

Dunkins reprises Spider Doughnut for Hallowe’en
The Dunk-o-Lantern is bright orange iced doughnut with a chocolate doughnut hole body and chocolate drizzle legs (see photo, top of page). And don’t forget to snag a Peanut Butter Cup Macchiato: an orange-hued, peanut butter cup swirl with a layer of espresso stirred in. Rare Sighting: Camel visits Drive-Thru
Fergie is a 12-year-old Colorado rescue camel who now lives at a Nevada animal sanctuary near Las Vegas. Seems she had one of her occasional cravings for Fries earlier this week. Just for fun, a human buddy walked Fergie up the strip and into the first Drive-Thru they spotted, an In N’ Out franchise. A bystander captured the event in glorious night-vision HD. The staff will be telling this one for years to come…
