Del Taco revives Tamales for Holidays
Del Taco – which started selling 19-cent tacos in 1958 – has come a long way. Now with more than 5o0 locations, the second-most popular Taco stop (after Tac9o Bell) is bringing back their signature Tamales. Not many places you can get Tamales in the Fast Food world! Choose from: Red & Green (Sauce) Smothered Tamales; Chili Cheese Smothered Tamales; Del Taco’s 2 for $4 Tamales: Tamales 4 Pack; and the Tamales Fiesta Pack.
Papa John’s getting an image makeover
Even though it’s basking in success at the moment, Pap John’s Pizza is taking some brave steps to keep its image at the forefront of the Fast Food sector. The chain has just released artist’s renderings of a new store design incorporating big glass windows through which you can watch your pie being made…
…a new logo and a new colour scheme featuring 3 key hues: Tangy Tomato (red), Fresh Basil (green), and Fluffy Dough (off-white). Company revenues increased year-over-year by 8.4 percent, to $512.8 million in Q3, while comparable sales were up 6.9 percent in North America and 8.3 percent gobally.
Popeye’s hustles Mac And Cheese
The chicken guys who dares to challenge Chick-Fil-A to a chicken sandwich duel are now preparing to bring you Homestyle Mac & Cheese. Lots of other fast Food brands have added this classic fave to their menus, either temporarily as a tease or permanently, as a new anchor. Popeye’s answer to the Mac & Cheese challenge aims to set a new standard: The cheese sauce is made with butter and real cheddar cheese, and topped with more grated cheddar. I’ll be interested to try it!
KFC adds delivery option
Well, it’s really a new pick-up option: Quick Pick Up is an option of you pre-order using the app or the website. All you have to do is motor to the nearest KFC and park in the dedicated QPU spot. Then go inside, jump the line, and pick your order up from the QPU wicket.

Pringles adds Scorchin’ new flavour
Scorchin’ Wavy Loaded Nacho Pringles are described as being loaded with familiar Tex-Mex flavours including creamy queso, sour cream, corn tortilla, spicy jalapeño and cayenne pepper (see photo, top of page). They’re available through a limited number of select retailers starting this month and will be launched chain-wide early next year.
General Mills débuts new Reese’s corn cereal…
Good News for those who love to pop cereal clusters instead of plain popcorn in front of the screen. Cereal giant General Mills is lifting the curtain on yet another candy-themed cereal.
Reese’s Puffs Cluster Crunch gives you the anytime joy of Peanut Butter Cups in a blend of chocolate and peanut butter puffed corn cereal jumps. Look for it in early January, 2022…
… and CinnaGraham Toast Crunch
CinnaGraham Toast Crunch cereal is another temptation for cereal snackers. It’s been described as a marriage of Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, all wrapped up in little square pillows that will remind you of Chex. Again, they’re premiering at select retailers next month, and blowing out across the U.S. in January.
Novelty Alert! Reese’s slices Peanut Butter Cup Pie
The Reese’s Thanksgiving Pie weighs in at over 3 lb. / 1.4 kg, and measures over 9 in. in diameter. It’s basically a huge PB Cup that you slice in wedges and serve like a regular pie.
Only 3,000 will be available, and only online, at (US)44.99. What a way to top off Thanksgiving dinner! You could even enhance it with Whipped Cream and sparkles and a Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup drizzle – if you dared.
Ridiculous Novelty Alert! Bacon scented Wrapping Paper
Hormel, the folks who made their name and fame on SPAM, are also major produces of smoked bacon. As a profile elevator for their bacon, they’re offering a special, limited-edition holiday wrapping paper that features a bacon weave pattern, and smells just like their Black Label Bacon. The catch is, you can’t buy it; you have to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a pack. Entries are open until end of day this coming Friday – Black Friday.
