Say it with Food!

Mary Poppins was right!

A spoonful of sugar does help the medicine go down! Or, as in the tale that follows, a bowlful of frosting…

When Laurel, a fifteen-year-old U.S. high school senior, recently pondered the pitfalls of various ways to come out to her parents as lesbian, she decided that, “…doing it this way would be a piece of cake. … [and] … your acceptance would be the icing on the cake.”

Laurel's Coming Out Cake and Covering Letter

It worked.

Say it with Sprinkles!

So… What’s all this got to do with MJ’s FFBlog? Brace yourselves…

I’m hereby declaring a contest, in which you, faithful readers, are challenged to produce your own, unique Culinary Communication Creations, to commemorate specific occasions, life milestones or historic events!

For instance… How about a “talking” Pizza to announce your forthcoming Italian vacation?

Or how about a plump, pink-frosted Bundt Cake declaring, “It’s a girl!”…

Or a Relish Tray with “It’s a Boy!” spelled out in Gherkins…

Or imagine what you could write in Cream on the surface of a Latté? Or in foam on the head of a Guinness? (Leaves and shamrocks are soooo last week…)

The possibilities may truly be endless!

I Can Has Talking Food?

It’s the most fun you can have on the Internet without a cat!

Send a photo of your Culinary Communication Creation to me via info@maggiejs.ca, along with your letter of explanation (or apology, as the case may be), and I’ll consider it for enshrinement on a new Gallery Page right here on the FFBlog, and share it with everyone!

Have fun! Be innovative! Think outside the recipe book! And be sure to share!

Enter soon! Enter often!
