Fast Food Week: Quick Service Resto And Snacks News…

The world has changed in major ways since we last reported here at Fast Food Week. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the face of social interaction, work, school and leisure as we know it. And among the aspects of life most changed is how we feed ourselves if we rely heavily on take-out…

Generic Fast Food Drive Thru - © CNBC.comMost Fast Food joins have closed down their dining rooms, either by prudent
choice or by order of their city or state authorities. But most
are keeping their drive thru windows open…

Nevertheless…

… Life goes on. To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum’s Jurassic Park character, Dr. Ian Malcom, “Takeout always finds a way!” Many quick service restaurants are staying open, albeit restricting their services to take-out and delivery, and upgrading their cleaning and sanitizing routines considerably.

Virtually all the big chains have posted public statements along the lines of Subway’s Facebook advisory:

“We know that COVID-19 is a concern for many people in our community and around the globe, including our loyal guests like you. We are closely monitoring and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), to ensure we are doing our part to keep you, our staff, and our community safe. While our store currently remains open, we are strongly encouraging our customers to use remote ordering and our friendly staff can deliver to your car.”

Most Fast Food outlets have instituted glove protocol, and some have also mandated masks for their employees.

There are still some pretty good deals…
