Sonic launches ‘Totchos’
They’re all dressed up like ‘supreme’ style Nachos, but they’re built on a bed of Tater Tots, rather than Corn Chips (see image, top of page). The toppings include: Cheese Sauce, Bacon, Diced Nnions, Jalapeños, and spicy Baja Sauce. They’ll be available at participating Sonic locations until March 1. Good choice for Super Boel takeout..
Taco Bell brings back Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch
The Bell is reprising its popular Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch for a limited time. It’s a big mouthful featuring TB’s signature Seasoned Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, and Spicy Ranch sauce in a regular crispy Taco Shell which is wrapped with layers of Seasoned Beef and melted Cheddar, Pepper Jack, and Mozzarella Cheeses, cradled in a warm Flatbread. Get it by itself or in a combo box accompanied by 2 regular Crunchy Tacos and a medium Fountain Drink. Like all good things in the Fast Food universe, it’s available for a limited time only.
Wendy’s brings back Bacon Big Classic
Reviewers who have seen (and tasted) it say this is really just a Dave’s Single with a lot of toppings – not exactly like the original which débuted back in 1992. The Bacon Big Classic is built on a regular Beef Patty topped with three strips of Applewood-Smoked Bacon, two slices of American (Processed) Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Ketchup, Mayo, and Onion, all on a toasted regular Bun. One enhancement of note: This version features two slices of Cheese rather than just one.
McD’s premieres new McChicken Breakfast Sandwiches
McDonald’s is launching a new McChicken Breakfast Sandwich, the McChicken Biscuit. It’s just a McChicken Patty on a Biscuit, But then, there’s the Chicken Griddle, which sandwiches the Patty between two McD’s Griddle Cakes (pancakes). They’re available at all McD’s outlets and should remain there year round. I guess McD’s decided to jump on the Chicken Breakfast Sandwich bandwagon with the simplest solution they could contrive. I predict McD’s will unveil some enhancement to these bare-bones Sammys soon.
Lays lays on more new flavours for 2020
Lays has released three more new flavours to kick off 2020. You can now get Lays Kettle Cooked Flamin’ Hot Potato Chips and Cheddar Jalapeno Potato Chips, along with Lay’s new Sea Salt and Vinegar Poppables – Lay’s Perfectly Popped (Puffed) Potato Snack. They’re also available in Honey BBQ and White Cheddar.
Krispy Kreme brings back Conversation Heart Doughnuts
‘Say it with Doughnuts!’ Krispy Kreme is once again offering its heart-shaped Doughnuts, filled with either Cake Batter, Strawberries & Kreme, Original Kreme, or Chocolate Kreme Cream, and frosted in different pastel colours. There are 24 different messages which mimic the Candy Hearts lovey conversation starters. And, if you order a dozen, they come in a special ‘Gift Box’.
