Arby’s brings back The Arbynator
That Roast Beef mountain on a Bun is back for a limited time at participating Arby’s locations after aboiut a year’s hiatus. As you’ll no doubt recall it’s a great big pile of Arby’s Roast Beef, topped with the chain’s signature Curly Fries and three sauces: Cheddar Cheese, Arby’s Sauce and Horsey Sauce. Sonic serves up Biggie Cheeseburger
The thing features ‘double the Beef and Triple the Cheese’ on a three-slab Bun reminiscent of a Big Mac. As advertised, you get three slices of American (processed) Cheese, two big Beef Patties and a garnish of Hickory BBQ Sauce, Grilled Onions, Mayo, and Pickles. It’ll be at participating Sonic drive-ins until Groundhog Day…
McDonald’s offers Bacon BBQ Burger
It sounds like something they’ve offered as a limited time special before, but McD’s insists it’s all new. Starting with a quarter pound Beef Patty (fresh, never frozen), they pile on toppings including Applewood-smoked Bacon, Bourbon BBQ Sauce, two slices of American (Processed) Cheese, and crispy-fried Onion Strings on a toasted Artisan roll. It joins the Snickerdoodle McFlurry as a seasonal specialty that should be available through the end of the year.
Krispy Kreme features new fancy Doughnuts
KK is featuring new North Pole-Inspired Donuts and Very-Limited-Time Chocolate Glazed Wonderland Donuts for the holidays. The North Pole Collection (available through December 24) includes a New Original Glazed Reindeer Donut (an Original Glazed Donut dipped in chocolate icing and adorned with pretzel antlers, eyes, and a red nose); a Santa Belly Donut (a Chocolate Kreme-filled donut decorated with buttons and a belt and buckle); and a Present Donut (an Original Glazed Donut filled with Original Kreme, decorated to look like a present). The Wonderland collection (available only this weekend!) includes a Chocolate Glazed Donut; a Chocolate Glazed Original Filled, Original Kreme aChocolate Glazed Original Filled, a Cake Batter and a Chocolate Glazed Original Filled, Double Chocolate. Baskin Robbins features ‘Jolly Mint’
That’s BR’s flavour of the month for December, featuring ‘Buttermint’ flavored Ice Cream blended with red and white candy and with white chocolate-flavored flakes. The chain is also offering other seasonal faves including Egg Nog, Peppermint, and Winter White Chocolate scoops. There are, of course, Ice Cream Cakes, too: including a new Disney Frozen II cake, a Winter Wonderland Cake and a Fudge Yule Log Roll.
DQ goes hot and cold
What sounds warm and soothing but tastes cool and bracing? It’s Dairy Queen’s new Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard as the Blizzard of the Month for December. The Soft Serve-based delight Candy Cane pieces, Choco Chunks, and Cocoa Fudge blended with Vanilla Soft Serve, and topped with Whipped Topping and more Candy Cane pieces. Yes, there are Candy Cane themes and Candy Cane pieces everywhere you look on the bakery and dessert front this year..
