Burger King Taunts McDonald’s with end-of-year promo…
Now until New Years, you can get a Whopper for just one cent – if you order your Burger King sandwich while at a McDonald’s outlet. Actually, you just have to be within 600 feet of a McDonald’s location to unlock the promotion in your smart phone. You must have the BK smart phone ordering app installed on your phone. Just cruise by a McD’s, order your Whopper via the phone app, and pick it up at the nearest BK location for just one cent. Alas… You can only cash in on the once-cent Whopper deal once. So bring a witness along with you, to prove you actually did it!
…Whips up OREO Cookie Peppermint Shake
Participating BK locations are offering this Holiday-themed Shake now through the end of the year. It’s vanilla soft serve blended with Oreo Cookie pieces and Peppermint Syrup, and crowned with Whipped topping. Get it while it’s cold!
Buffalo Wild Wings showcases Double-Stacked Sammys
BWW is featuring the Buffalo Tender Stacked Burger (teaser image, top of page) and the Double Stacked Bacon Cheese Burger for a limited time. The BTSB stuffs a Brioche Bun with Crispy-fried Chicken Tenders tossed in your choice of Mild, Medium, or Hot Sauce on top of a Beef Patty along with Blue Cheese Crumbles, Blue Cheese Dressing, Lettuce, Red onion, and Tomato. The DSBCB contains two Beef Patties, Bacon, American (Processed) Cheese, grilled Red Onions, Pickles, and Chipotle sauce. While you’re there, check out the Crispy BBQ Chicken Tacos and Loaded Tater Tots, also on for a limited time.
Little Caesar’s testing Lasagna Pizza?
A new Lasagna Pizza has been sighted at a few selected LC outlets in Georgia, Ohio and West Virginia. It’s not a layered creation like an actual Lasagna, but all the ingredients are there, including mini crinkly Lasagna Noodle strips, meaty Marinara, Italian sausage, and a blend of Mozzarella, Muenster and Ricotta cheeses on a toasted Parmesan crust. It may be some time before we see this new creation available widely at LC’s. And that will depend on response from Georgia, Ohio and W. Virginia fans.
Krispy Kreme revisits ‘Day of the Dozens’
The iconic purveyor of classic glazed Doughnuts is bring back its Day of the Dozens promotion this coming Wednesday, December 12. You can get a dozen regular KK Donuts for just a buck if you buy another 12 pastries – any mixture of items. You’ll actually be able to get 2 dozen regular KK Glazed sinkers at the discounted price. Sounds like a good way to gift the Doughnut lovers on your Christmas List!
Baskin Robbins débuts a new Ice Cream Cake for the holidays
It’s BR’s take on a traditional Red Velvet Roll Cake filled with Creole Cream Cheese Ice Cream. The Cake itself is Chocolate flavoured and the Icing on top is made with Cream Cheese rather than the usual Whipped Cream. It’s a hefty (US)$34.99 for a full-sized ‘log’ that feeds 6-8 or (US)$22.99 for a mini version hat Feeds 2-4. Available only for the Holiday season…
Dairy Queen brings back festive Candy Cane Chill Blizzard
DQ is bringing back its Pepperminty Candy Cane Chill Blizzard this month, for the Holidays. The Soft Serve chain is also continuing its Fall Blizzard menu – Snickerdoodle, Dipped Strawberry, Oreo Hot Cocoa, and Reese’s Outrageous whiuch have been available since September.
