Domino’s Franchisee wants his delivery car back…

A Domino’s Pizza franchisee is the U.S. claiming trademark infringement and a number of other wrongdoings against a YouTube guy known as SamCrac who bought a wrecked Domino’s DXP delivery car at auction for under (US)$600. and fully restored it. That includes the Domino’s paint scheme, roof light and built-in Pizza warming oven. The franchisee says he wants the car back, now, and has offered Sam (US)$10,000. for it. Sam countered with as ask of (US)$90,000. Haw, haw! The franchisee says the affair is not over. Sam’s YouTube video about the car has received more than two million views. And Sam has just bought another wrecked Domino’s delivery car…

Brace yourself for the McWagyu Buger!

McDonald’s is now offering a Wagyu Beef Burger featuring “100 percent Australian-bred Wagyu beef.” The Aussies raise special cattle which produce exquisite, heavily marbled beef that – while not quite up to Japanese standards – is still several cuts above the usual stuff. The Burger comes with Bacon, Caramelized Onions, Lettuce, Classic Cheese and McDonald’s Tangy Sauce. While it sells for (A)$12.50 (about (US)$9.64), that’s still a lot less than the (US)$200. it would cost if made from genuine Japanese Wagyu Beef. Might be as close to real Wagyu as most of us will every

New Fries are ‘all Greek’ to Arby’s

There’s a new treat at Arby’s… Curly Fries topped with Gyro Meat and toppings. Sounds divine! Looks wonderful – though it will be messy to eat, I think. Gyro Loaded Curly Fries include Arby’s signature Curly Fries topped with Gyro Meat, Onions, Tomatoes, Tzatzíki Sauce, and Gyro Seasoning. If Fries aren’t your thing, there’s also a Greek Gyro Salad. Like all realy nifty, tasty things in the Fast Food universe, they’re available for a limited time only, probably through the middle of next month.

KFC brings back a crazy-mad menu item

The Double Down is back, this time featuring two Fried Chicken Filets sandwiching a Belgian Waffle and, for a Canadian touch, Maple Aioli Sauce. Only in Canada, you say? Tough luck, everybody else!

Taco Bell bursts upon the supermarket Chip aisle

Taco Bell will release three ‘dressed’ Corn Chips flavours at supermarkets across the continent in May. there’s classic, Salted; Fire, with flavours inspired by The Bell’s Fire dipping sauce (Jalapeños, Chili Peppers, and Paprika); and Mild (a blend of of three Chili Peppers and Cumin). The bags will even look like huge versions of the Sauce Packs. We’ll see how they do up against already-well-established favourites, like Doritos from Lay’s.

There is such as thing as a Free Lunch – at Little Caesar’s

But it’s only available on April 2, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Why are they giving away free Lunch Combos, including a four slice Deep Deep Dish Pizza and a 20 oz. Pepsi product. Why? Well, the chain playfully offered to do it if the number 16 ranked team in the NCAA March Madness college basketball play-downs beat the number 1 team. And they did. So much for a safe, bet, Caesar! One little catch… You can’t order it for delivery. You have to go in and ask for it at the counter.

Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s

Ben and Jerry’s stores will offer free small cones on April 10. No special reason. Maybe because Dairy Queen offered free Small Cones on March 21, the first day of Spring. B&J aren’t saying. You can come in – and line up as many times as you want – from Noon to 8 p.m. on the magic day.

Wendy’s ups the volume dissing its competitors

Wendy’s – which has surpassed every one of its competitors in dissing the opposition via social media – has released a new ‘mixtape’ of five tunes hammering those would challenge the supremacy of its fresh-never-frozen Beef. Download it from Twitter. Each tune focuses on a single competitor. Targets include WingStop, Hardee’s, Burger King and, of course, McDonald’s. The McD’s tune is titled Clownin’. Figures.
